My Story
How I got here
My road to becoming a new media designer started long before I knew there was such a job. Growing up I was a student of creativity. It didn't matter if I was making posters in Microsoft Word or using pencils and printer paper, I was creating. I grew up, fell in love with watercolor and illustration, tricked everyone into thinking I was going to be an engineer somehow, and them surprised them all when I went to college for Jack-of-all-trades major New Media Design. There, I fell in love with 2D animation, had loads of fun making 3D models, and gained a hearty appreciation for art history.
What I do now
After graduating college in 2020, I've since worked as a freelancer, motion designer, and digital designer in advertising. My expertise is in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, After Effects, and XD, as well as Figma, and Google Web Designer.

Some fun stuff
I adore dogs (the fluffier the better), I make a mean beef stew, I don't have much of a sweet tooth but I could eat chocolate covered pretzels all day, my favorite season is winter, and if I could have a superpower I would want to be able to fly.

Advice for my past self
People will tell you, "sell yourself as one thing, you don't want to be a jack-of-all-trades." Don't listen. Learn everything you can learn, do everything that interests you, fall in love with creating. You might just wind up making something beautiful.
